The Greedy King and the Wise Rishi
Once upon a time, in a faraway kingdom, there lived a greedy king named Raja Sukra. Raja Sukra was always thinking of ways to increase his wealth and power. One day, a wise Brahmin named Rishi Vasishtha came to the kingdom.
Rishi Vasishtha was a man of great wisdom and knowledge. He knew that the king was greedy and tried to warn him of the dangers of his greed. But the king would not listen. Instead, he demanded that Rishi Vasishtha give him a magic cow that would produce gold.
Rishi Vasishtha, knowing that the king was beyond reason, agreed to give him the cow. However, he warned the king that the cow would only produce gold as long as she was not milked every day. If the king milked her every day, the cow would stop producing gold and would instead produce blood.
The king was overjoyed to receive the golden cow. He milked her every day, and the cow produced gold in abundance. The king became even greedier and decided to milk the cow twice a day to get even more gold.
One day, the king's greed got the better of him. He milked the cow three times a day, and as Rishi Vasishtha had warned, the cow stopped producing gold and began to produce blood. The king was horrified and realized that his greed had led to his downfall.
From that day on, the king learned his lesson and became a wiser and more generous ruler. He respected the wisdom of Rishi Vasishtha and lived a peaceful and prosperous life.
