Project 5 Grade 9

Following Projects can be assigned based on the lesson The Snake and the Mirror.

Project 1

Write two alternative endings to the story. Consider how the doctor's life might have changed if the snake incident had a different outcome.

Alternative Ending 1: The Friendly Snake Dance

Instead of being scared, the doctor and the snake started to dance together. It was like a secret language between them. The doctor discovered he could understand snakes! Soon, everyone knew about his special skill, and he became famous for helping snakes and people. Life changed a lot, but in a good way, as the doctor became a hero in the town.

Alternative Ending 2: The Scary Snake Bite

In his fear, he tried to push the snake away, but it bit him! It was a scary moment. The doctor had to run and get help. After some treatment, he got better, but the scary snake made him afraid of all snakes. This fear stayed with him, making life a bit harder for the doctor.

Project 2

Create a short script and perform a dramatic interpretation of a key scene from the story, bringing the characters to life.

Title: "Unexpected Reunion"

Characters:

- Doctor

- Friend

- Narrator

(Scene: Doctor's house, a few days after the snake incident. Doctor and Friend meet for a conversation.)

---

Narrator: (Setting the scene) In a small town, where tales of the unusual spread like wildfire, our doctor found himself at the center of a peculiar story. Days after the snake incident, the doctor and his friend meet to discuss the aftermath.

---

Friends: (Entering excitedly) Doctor! I heard about the snake and the mirror. Quite a story you have there!

Doctor: (Smiling nervously) Oh, it was nothing. Just a little unexpected company.

Friends: (Curious) So, did you ever see the snake again?

Doctor: (Chuckling) Not at all. It seems to have vanished into thin air.

---

(As the doctor and friend continue their conversation, the atmosphere becomes lighter. The doctor shares more details about the strange incident.)

---

Friends: (Laughing) A snake admiring its own reflection? That's a new one!

Doctor: (Grinning) Indeed. I never thought I'd be part of such a tale.

Friends: (Teasingly) And what about the mirror? Did you keep it or throw it out?

Doctor: (Jokingly) Well, it's still there, but I've started avoiding eye contact with it!

---

(Their laughter echoes through the room.)

---

Narrator: (Closing) And so, in this small town, where every twist of fate becomes a story, the doctor's encounter with the snake remained a tale that brought laughter and relief, turning an unusual incident into a cherished memory among friends.

Project 3

Create a humorous write up in about 100 words on the snake that appeared in the doctor's room.

Once upon a funny time, a sneaky snake visited Doctor's room. Let's call him Mr. Slithery. Instead of jungle adventures, Mr. Slithery chose a room meeting. He got fascinated by a shiny mirror, dreaming of a cool mustache. But, oh my scales, when he saw himself, he blushed like a tomato! Doctor, clueless about his reptile roommate, just sat there, like a statue. Little did Mr. Slithery know, he became the town's most stylish snake!🐍😄

Project 4

Imagine you are a journalist conducting an interview with the doctor about the snake incident.Prepare a set of questions and answers, exploring the doctor's emotions, thoughts, and the aftermath.

Interviewer: Dr. Raj, can you take us back to that moment when the snake landed on your shoulder?

Dr. Raj: Certainly! It was a hot night, and I was just admiring my handsome self in the mirror when, surprise surprise, Mr. Slithery joined the party.

Interviewer: How did you manage to stay so calm with a snake coiled around you?

Dr. Raj: Honestly, it felt like I turned into a statue. I knew any sudden move could lead to a snakey surprise, so I stayed as still as a rock.

Interviewer: Did you have any wild thoughts during those intense moments?

Dr. Raj: Oh, you bet! I was contemplating my life choices, like deciding to grow a mustache and even planning to marry a rich, chubby doctor.

Interviewer: What about the aftermath? How did the town react?

Dr. Raj: (Laughs) Well, the town now thinks I have a fashionable snake friend. And someone even left behind my dirty vest as a 'clean' insult!

Interviewer: Have you seen Mr. Slithery since?

Dr. Raj: Not a slither! The fashionable snake vanished, leaving behind an empty room and a hilarious story.

Interviewer: Any advice for others who might find themselves face-to-face with a snake?

Dr. Raj: Smile, imagine the snake admiring its reflection, and maybe, just maybe, it will leave you with a good story instead of a snakebite!
