Project 2 Grade 6

You might have read a short poem  at the end of your lesson.  

It's a Limerick.

Limerick is a funny poem of five lines in which 1st, 2nd and 5th lines rhyme together and 3rd and 4th lines rhyme with each another. 

Topic: Collect two Limericks. Write them in your notebook. Identify the rhyming words.

Model Project :

1.

There once was a cat named Lou,

Who loved to play peekaboo.

He'd hide behind a chair,

With a mischievous glare,

And pounce out when you least knew.

Rhyming Words: 

Set 1: Lou, peekaboo, knew

Set 2: chair, glare


2.

There was a young girl named Kate,

Whose imagination was great.

She dreamed of far-off land,

With castles and knights so grand,

In her adventures, she'd participate.

Rhyming Words: 

Set 1: Kate, great, partipate 

Set 2: land, grand


3.

In a town by the sea lived a crab,

Who loved to do a little dance and jab.

With claws held up high,

He'd shimmy and sigh,

Entertaining all with a fabulous grab.

Rhyming Words: 

Set 1: crab, jab, grab

Set 2: sigh, high


4.

A clever young fox named Finn,

Could outsmart anyone with a grin.

He'd trick them with ease,

In the forest, he'd tease,

A sly, cunning hero within.

Rhyming Words: 

Set 1: Finn, grin, within

Set 2: ease, tease 


5.

There was a small snail named Side,

Who dreamed of a thrilling ride.

He hitched a lift on a bird,

And off they soared, unheard,

The fastest snail the world couldn't hide.

Rhyming Words:

Set 2: bird, unheard
