Lata Mangeshkar was a famous singer from India. She was born on September 28, 1929, in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Her father's name was Pandit Deenanath Mangeshkar, and her mother's name was Shevanti. She had a younger sister named Asha Bhosle, who was also a singer.

Lata Mangeshkar was known for her beautiful singing. She sang many songs in different languages, around 50,000 songs! People called her the "Nightingale of India" because her voice was so sweet. She received the most special award, Bharat Ratna in 2001, which is a big honour in India. It's the highest award someone can get in the country.

Sadly, Lata Mangeshkar passed away on February 6, 2022. Even though she's not here anymore, her songs and her voice will always be remembered and loved by people all over the world.
