May I know why the farmer in the story is referred as 'protaganist' though had immense faith in God.Though he doubted the postman, he strongly believed that God is surely for help without any iota of doubt.
The farmer is seen as the protagonist because he is the main character around whom the plot revolves. He faces the central conflict of the story and drives the narrative forward with his actions and decisions.
